Jean Bonhotal
Reducing, repurposing, recycling and composting solid and organic residuals to mine and redirect resources from our waste stream is a systematic way to manage our waste stream. Jean works on composting feedstock from food to manure to animal carcasses composting education and research. Characterizing waste streams is important to be able to separate and determine value-added purposes for different residuals. Compost quality and consistency in the market place is also a high priority, as well as encouraging use to build healthy soils and redistribute nutrients.
Kristie Pecci
Kristie Pecci’s relationship with Zero Waste began out of necessity — a determination to protect her home, family, and community from the dangers of a nearby landfill. What started as a personal mission quickly became a lifelong commitment. Over the past decade, she has worked to identify and collaborate with experts who hold real, practical solutions to our growing waste crisis, and she now advocates for governments, corporations, and communities across the country to adopt these solutions and break the toxic cycle of production and disposal. As Executive Director of Just Zero, Kristie provides the vision and mentorship that empower her team to turn bold ideas into action, refusing to accept that “we can’t do better” and leading the charge toward a sustainable, safe, equitable, and economically sound future.
